Perfect at the Pierce House

I have been excited about this wedding since I first met with Lisa and Lee way back last winter when it was still cold and grey out. I loved the laid back style and lush color scheme they'd chosen for their wedding, I love early Fall and I LOVE working at the Pierce House in Lincoln. It's such a beautiful spot- it doesn't really need much in the way of dressing up and Lisa and Lee totally got that. They stuck with d├ęcor that complimented the natural beauty of the grounds instead of competing with it. We used lots of fall grasses, succulents, native dahlias, garden roses, anemones and oh lots of other beautiful flowers all arranged in mason jars and old bottles. The wooden slabs on the tables helped make the setting relaxed and natural feeling. Oh, and did I mention the weather? 82 degrees and sunny on Sept 27? Quelle chance!

Lush Garden Style Wedding- Fairmont Copley Plaza

Copley Square is one of my favorite spots in Boston.   I love everything about it- the architecture, the shopping, the restaurants, the library, the farmers markets, everything... And I love Fairmont weddings!  The Oval Room is such a great setting for a wedding- it's elegant but understated, it's formal without being stuffy.  And, you can do so much with colors! I've done so many different combinations in that room and I can't think of one that I didn't like.  For this wedding we used a combination of vibrant and muted tones ranging from raspberry to blush and made sure to incorporate lots of silvery green.  The effect was like a blooming garden in the middle of the city!  An urban oasis of flowers!

And Emily's bouquet- well, I was thrilled to be able to use some of my favorite flowers (white anemone, Cafe Au Lait Dahlias, Keira garden roses and ranuculus) to create something unique and memorable for her.

Black Tie at the NEAQ

Even the penguins were dressed appropriately to help Leah and Ryan celebrate their wedding on a gorgeous summer day! I love working at The New England Aquarium because the staff is amazing and the setting is unique and fun, but can be dressed up any way you'd like. Leah and Ryan chose to go formal in the space and the result was memorable to say the least. For this job I brought my apprentice in training (my ten year old daughter) but I think she spent more time talking to the seals than actually lending a hand. But really, can I blame her? They are adorable!

Wedding Feature: Ericka and Manny

Oh what a treat I have for you this afternoon!  Below is a link to Ericka and Manny's gorgeous wedding photos, taken by Alicia Schneider.  Check out Ericka's stunning STUNNING dress. All I can say is WOW!! (and I see a lot of wedding dresses!) That and all the other fine details certainly added up to a memorable affair. But of course I want you to focus on the flowers. Sometimes less is more - and here we kept it very, very simple.  All neutral toned, all simply arranged.  I think they perfectly complimented the elegant attire, setting and details of this beautiful wedding.  Happy viewing!!

Summer, summer, summer..

Ah summer... such a wonderful time.  Life just seems more colorful, brighter, and well, just more fun.  I think Tara's wedding flowers perfectly reflect that sentiment.  The hydrangea, garden roses, spray roses and freesia are so vibrant and lush you can't help but feel happy just looking at them. Handheld bundles of fun!!

Relaxed and Charming at the Codman Estate

I love the simple elegance of a few bottles and vases gathered together to dress up dinner tables.  And, I love spring flowers!  What an effortless combination garden roses, peonies, parrot tulips, craspedia and allium make.  And the colors... well the colors speak for themselves!
