In the Studio...

I was cleaning out my computer files and came across these photos among the thousands of flower pics I have saved. I really do need to do something about them, but I tend to get distracted before I get a chance to get down to it and start purging (case in point, this blog post!!). Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share a few behind the scenes photos from my studio. Plus, I really liked these arrangements and I'm not sure they ever made it on my blog. One is from a spring wedding held at The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, and one is from a September Boston wedding. Enjoy!

At The Taj...

What a treat I have for you today! I've been following Leah Haydock's blog ever since Lauren told me she would be photographing her and James' June wedding.  So, I can tell you without a doubt that her work is ahhh-mazing no matter what.  But, pair her talent with a gorgeous bride, handsome groom, fabulous venue, style galore (Lauren's Vera Wang was to die for!!), lush flowers (of course!), and many personal details and you've got the story of this stunning wedding laid out in the most beautiful way.  Leah posted the images in three installments on her blog- I'm linking to the third and final one here, but believe me, it's worth sticking around and looking at the first two.

Lauren is not only beautiful on the outside, she's also super nice and was a doll to work with.  It was fun working with the couple during their planning process and it was a treat to help pull it all together at the end. What a pleasure to collaborate on this wedding! Click on the photo below to see all the memorable images.

Beauty and Grace...

Grace is as lovely as her name, and I'm honored to have been part of the beginning of her and Matt's new married life together. Their wedding was held on a glorious, sunsplashed summer day and I think the flowers they chose matched the time and place perfectly.  We used fluffy peonies (the last of the season....sigh), lush hydrangea, deep hued spray roses, and a hint of soft lisianthus and a bit of craspedia for texture and pop. Vibrant pinks, deep purple, hints of yellow and cream- it was like summer personified in flowers.

I just received some of these beautiful images from Nicole Sakr Photography, so I'll just let them tell the tale... but p.s. check back soon for shots from their reception!

Vibrant Beauty

One thing I really love about my job is that it changes all the time.  I can be working with soft, subtle romantic colors and textures one week, and then vibrant, happy, brilliant ones the next.  For example take this orange and navy themed wedding.  It was completely opposite from the soft hues I've been working more often with this summer, but equally as beautiful.  I love bold color combinations- especially summer ones.  Orange and navy tops the list.  Hopefully I'll have some more shots of this fun wedding soon, but for now, enjoy:

Garden Glamour!

I think these photos from
Lindsey Light Photography say it all.
What an absolutely fabulous Glen Magna Farms
summer wedding!   I think you know how I feel about
peonies and garden roses.. honestly I can't get enough of them, and I never tire of working with them.  I am especially in love with these pale peach David Austin Juliet roses.. swwoooon.  When they're arranged together without too much fuss it really makes for memorable personal flowers and table pieces.

It was such a pleasure working with Katie and Marc-
a beautiful couple through and through! - and I am thrilled their special day turned out to be so beautiful in every way.  And, I'm happyh to be able to share these lovely photos of their amazing day.  Click here for more of Lindsey's georgous images!

Blush and Bashful

I don't know if you've ever seen Steel Magnolias.. but if you haven't you should.  I'm probably dating myself here, but it's one of my all time favorite tear jerkers- right up there with Beaches.  Anyway, when I was creating the flowers for this wedding a line from the movie kept running through my head.  Julia Roberts character is getting married and she keeps reminding everyone- especially her mother- that her colors are "blush and bashful".  We used the palest peach and pink roses we could find that week and combined them with blush peonies, white hydrangea and ivory spray roses.  And the effect was soft, lovely, quiet but beautiful- very blush and bashful!  But, the bride didn't want to be too nondescript so we added some fun elements (think feathers!) to liven it all up a bit.

Pretty in Pink

Is there anything as sweet and lovely as pale pink hydrangea paired with blush and pink peonies and roses? We threw in some pale green and a hint of stronger pink for punch, and the combination was beautiful. A perfect pallate for a summer wedding.
